ISSR RESIGNATION
effective March 28, 2006

This letter is to inform you effective immediately of my resignation as an ISSR breeder, a member of the GTF, a member of the Advisory board, a member of the SSDCA and president of SSDCA-MAC. I have given this much thought and it has been a difficult decision. I do not have to justify to anyone how I came to my decision, but just so you are not completely in the dark, I will briefly explain.

• I can no longer in good conscience be a part of an organization that revolves around hatred, anger, and revenge involving slander, libel, defamation, embezzlement, deceit, half truths, hidden facts, twisted stories, falsified test results, and rules applying to some but not others, just to name a few.

• The LER in Winchester was the final straw. Watching the breed founder terrorize 8 week old, ten pound puppies was embarrassing to all the breeders in attendance as well as any others that watched. I have participated in many LER’s and was never instructed to throw the can at the puppy, kick the can at the puppy and hit the puppy with the can…repeatedly.

• The immature action of the breed founder over the Wiki incident was an embarrassment to the entire breed and has severely damaged the ISSR Shiloh reputation. I refused to get involved and, therefore, have been shunned. I have received several calls over the past weeks questioning my kennel’s involvement with the breed founder and her kennel. They do not want to purchase a pup from anyone involved with New Zion or the ISSR. What can I say when several of the dogs that were given to me came from New Zion kennel half starved, a skeletal bag of bones? Angel weighed 62 lbs and Kit a mere 55lb. I was appalled, as was my vet.

• Flooding the gene pool with the outcross, Artus, known to produce mega-E in his first few litters was insanity. Then questioning where it is coming from now that it has reappeared when you know its exact origin.

• Encouraging me to pursue a lawsuit against my vet when you knew that a bleeding disorder was in the genetics behind one of my dogs, the exact cause of her death, was incorrigible.

• Paperwork that takes a year plus to process, innocent people waiting for their dog’s registration papers but the checks have been cashed long ago.

I am saddened of the friendships that I will lose because of this decision and I pray for understanding. But, I can no longer be a part of this. I was raised as a good Christian, one that does not lie, but isn’t keeping silent just as bad? I am just as guilty by association.

I will be leaving quietly and expect that you accept this resignation with the same courtesy. Please remove from all forums and websites, my kennel name, my personal information and all pictures of my dogs.

Thank you,
Dawn M. Swick
