BelleGrace Shilohs is the home to many fine Shilohs, young and old alike. Our breeding program is one of ethical fairness. We are a cautious breeder who only wants to produce the very best possible.

We carefully breed only two or three litters per year, from health tested parents. Our girls are not bred on every heat, or even every year. They are allowed to mature to at least the age of two years, when permanent testing can be done, before being actively added to our breeding program. Our girls are also retired early, with some being placed in good, forever homes where they can be pampered as they deserve.

Although we are the home to many Shilohs, most live in our residence with us as house dogs. Yes, some sleep in crates at night, but during the day, they have exercise time outside on a completely fenced acre, relaxing time in our shaded enclosures, or house time with us in our home. All are walked on a leash and know how to play with toys, as well as being trained in basic obedience. We feed a high quality food, age appropriate with supplements to insure healthy bodies and minds.

Our heated kennel has large inside enclosures which lead out onto sealed cement exercise runs. All areas are cleaned three times a day, and are mopped twice a day with an approved kennel cleaner protecting against parvo and distemper. Dogs are removed from the enclosures when it is time to power wash and sanitize with bleach. It is a labor of love for the dog, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Our litters of pups are delivered and raised in our home. We do not have a "specially designed whelping unit" in our kennel, but a private room in our home dedicated to where the new mom and her babies feel safe and secure, away from the bustle of normal household activities. This room is also equipped with good lighting, heating and air conditioning for proper ventilation and temperature control, a couch and recliner, as well as other household items to make it as comfortable as possible. We sleep in the same room as our expectant mothers several days before delivery and at least a week afterwards, ever watchful. Moms are carefully monitored before, during and after delivery for any problems, and our vet is always just a phone call away. The puppies are weighed daily the first week, and then twice weekly there after as weight loss is the first sign of possible problems. They are taken outside for walks and new experiences from about the age of four weeks. Once they are six weeks old, and have their first shots, we expand their horizons with rides in the car. They are placed in a crate with toys and treats when the whelping pen is cleaned. This introduces them to the idea of crate training, and allows them to understand that a crate is a good place to be. Our puppies are properly socialized, health certified, vaccinated and microchipped before leaving to go to their new homes as well adjusted 8 week olds.

Our future plans include expanding as a boarding facility and a possible doggy day care program. We are also actively involved in rehomes and rescues, feeling that all Shilohs deserve the best chance possible for a happy future.

We look forward to a bright future with our amazing Shilohs. Please contact us with any questions. We look forward to hearing from you.
